One X smartphone, you must be able to unlock its bootloader and enable
its root access. We know you would like to that’s why we are here to
guide you through. In this post, we will be teaching you how to
officially unlock the bootloader of your handset.

This process can only be applied to the HTC One X. By unlocking your phone’s bootloader, you should be fully aware that you will void your phone’s warranty and there’s a great possibility for you to lose your phone’s data. You could also get your phone bricked. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you follow this guide at your own risk. We are not liable for any damages that could happen to your phone.
Pre-Requisites:
–> You must have the HTC Sync installed on your computer. You can download the source file from this link.
–> Create a backup of your phone’s important data such as your SMS messages, phone contacts, call logs, images, photos and videos.
–> You have to check your phone’s battery and make sure that its power level won’t go any lower than 80 percent. This is to avoid any unnecessary power interruptions during the process.
–> Download the Fastboot Zip Package from this link.
Step 2: Download and Save the Fastboot Zip Package from the source link above. Save the file to your computer. Once done, extract the file to a specific folder.
Step 3: Open the official HTC Development Page. Create an account and log-in to your account. Once you’re logged in, go to HTC’s Unlock Bootloader Page. You can access the page at this link.
Step 4: You will then see a list of supported devices. Select ‘All Other Supported Models’. Click ‘Begin Unlock Bootloader’. As soon as you see a warning message, select ‘Yes’. A new screen will appear.
Step 5: Follow the instructions that you see on the screen. You will eventually be told to follow a step-by-step guide on how to unlock your phone’s bootloader. After you have successfully followed the instructions, you may now be able to turn off your HTC One X handset.
Step 6: Reboot your phone to bootloader mode. Do this by simultaneously pressing the Volume Down key and Power button. In bootloader mode, select ‘fastboot’ then connect your device to your computer via USB data cable.
Step 7: Open the command prompt of your computer. Go to the directory where your Fasboot file is located. Ensure that you have successfully connected your phone to your computer. You can do this by typing the ‘fastboot devices’ command on the command prompt.
Step 8: Again in the command prompt, type ‘fastboot oem get_identifier_token’. You will then see your Token ID. Copy your Token ID. Start from <<<>>> then end at <<<<>>>>.
Step 9: After which, go back to the HTC Development Page to submit your Token ID. You will then get a file called ‘Unlock.code.bin’. The file will be delivered to you via email. Download the file and place it on your Fastboot package folder.
Step 10: In your command prompt window, type ‘fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin’ then hit Enter. An Unlocked Bootloader request will then be sent to your HTC One X. Using your Volume keys, select Yes then press the Power button to confirm your selection.
Step 11: Wait for your phone to reboot as it will perform a factory reset. To confirm that you have successfully unlocked your phone’s bootloader, reboot your device to Bootloader Mode. You will then see the UNLOCKED message on top of your Bootloader Menu.

Instructions:
